Gaming Dad Blog 5: Dr. Panda

My family took a road trip to Toronto and the Amazon Fire computers came in handy. In a few weeks, I’ll post my pillars about why I am so interested in children and media. I’m excited to explore why I game and why I want my kids to do so. I’ll never convince my wife, but there needs to be an educational component rather than just entertainment.

Dr. Panda Restaurant 2 is game that my kids really enjoyed playing. It’s no Overwatch, but there are a lot of life skills that the kids practice. For example, Vivi knows how to make a cake better than I do from these food games. Flour, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and baking powder – who knew.

The concept of the game is an island restaurant that has two patrons that need to eat. You cook up their food while they tell you what ingredients they like. No words are spoken but a bunch of guttural “uh-huh” and “uh-nuh” pervade the game. The kids really enjoyed playing together and taking turns on this one. I’d recommend it.

There are also a ton of Dr. Panda games that we’ll continue to explore on Amazon FreeTime.
