The Great Quarantine of 2020 (I hope it ends this year) has reached my blog. Hopefully this means I can spend more quality time writing. As a result, my kids have had to spend more time on the computer doing lessons. Reading, writing, math, and other lessons need frequent breaks for a 6 and 3 year old. One of the games I’ve turned to is a web-based game that I might be more addicted to than my kids.
My daughter calls it the “Worm Game.” They seem to enjoy customizing the worm and naming it rather than actually playing. When they do click the play button they will crash immediately. If they happen to start growing then they ask me to take over. It doesn’t take me too long to crash when I get over 1000.
My usual set of questions included:
- What is the game about?
- What are the best and worst parts?
- What problems do you experience?
- Why was the game designed this way?
My daughter constantly asks to play the game. Her answers are below:
- Purpose – eating other worms crunch and munch.
- Best part – getting to 4 numbers, for example 1000.
- Worst part – getting surrounded by other worms.
- Problems – getting crunched.
- Design – to have fun.
My daughter’s score: Umm, 40 only
My son’s score: 1 star
